This program does not need privileges and should not be privileged. While actual editing of other users' files is not allowed by RSTS/E, cross-account directories may be obtained on systems where it is not normally allowed. The program may be RUN or entered by two CCL commands. If the program is RUN, it will prompt for a filename specification. If entered via the CCL commands, it expects the file spec in core common. This program should not be CHAINed to except at line zero. Several switches are allowed as modifiers to the file spec string. These have the following effects: /RO or /MO:8192 Opens the files read-only /DE or /K Deletes EDT temp file /ZE Zeroes EDT temp file /P:nn Pauses nn seconds between printing message and chaining to EDT for edit The CCL command are any chosen by the system manager. Two entry points are available: line 30000 will edit the files specified, line 30500 will append the /RO switch to the file spec. Suggested CCL commands are SELECT and INSPECT, respectively.
