A1  MAINTENANCE APPROACH

     This machine type will be repaired to the sub-assembly level
during  on-site  maintenance  and  repair at  class  3  C.R.C.'s.
Limited  component  level repair may be  authorized  for  certain
class  2 C.R.C.'s.   Component level repair is authorized for all
class  1  C.R.C.'s,  however  a test bed may  not  be  authorized
depending  on  volume.   NOTE:  It may be cost effective  for  the
C.R.C.'s  to repair only to the sub-assembly level.   The  King of           
Prussia production facility will repair to the component level.

                 *** F-212/222 LOCKS UP WHEN DIALING MODEM ***               

SYMPTOM:
The  F-212/222 appears to lock up when trying to dial out through
the modem.  Modem does not go off hook.

CAUSE:
1. Modem set-up may be incorrect.

2. There may be garbage in the directory.  This can happen if the
logic board or modem board has been changed.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:                                                           

1. Re-install the modem set-up.

2.  Clear  the  garbage  from the  directory  by  following  this
procedure:

     Press the following keys:

               <CTRL-MODEM>
               <F8> (CHECK FOR VALID INFO)
               <F5>
               <F4>
               <F10>
               <F10>
               <F8>
               <SHIFT-REMOVE> (PRESS THIS 24 TIMES)
               <F10>
               <F2>
               <C/R> (CARRIAGE RETURN)
