                           *** OVERVIEW ***

The ACB-2070A is Winchester disk controller that supports Run Length
Limited (RLL) formatted hard disks using the ST506 interface standard.
The on-board BIOS supports User-defined drive parameters and provides
a low-level format utility. Four standard drive tables can be selected
using jumpers.  The auto-configure feature in ROM allows pre-
formatting before installation. Up to two drives can be supported
with up to 16 heads and 1024 cylinders each.

                       *** FORMAT PROCEDURES ***                             

Load DEBUG from DOS. At the DEBUG prompt enter the following:
        -g=c800:ccc

        Enter sector interleave (3 to 9):n
        Enter drive ID (0/1):0      (rerun the program for drive 1)
        Should we use the default paramters (Y/N)       (y if using
jumpers for bios table selection) If not enter the following
parameters;
        Number of logical drives (1-8) DOS only supports 32 MB per
drive. A larger capacity drive can be divided into logical units for
use by DOS. Drives will be divided evenly by the number supplied.

        Step pulse rate (0 - 7):    normal is three or use table
below.

        Specify the Defect Byte offset encoding: MFM or RLL Needed to        
enter defects from the drive label.
        Enter defect list
        Type defect file name or press enter:   if you have the defect
list on a DOS file, else hit enter.

                          *** DIAGNOSTICS ***

Power-on with a jumper on K-L. Do NOT connect cables. If the board is
functioning properly, the LED will flash continuously fit a duration
of 0.5 - 1.0 seconds per flash. Other flash patterns indicate board
failures.

When using logical partioning, the drive will fail the IBM Advanced
Diagnostics Write Test. Run Read test only.
