It services from 1 to 7 terminal concentrators (ST-2008+) with each concentrator providing 8 serial ports and one Centronics parallel port. The ST-2008+ concentrators are daisy chained using twisted pair cable, and can be widely seperated with total cable length of up to 1500'. Manuals are supplied with the equipment and should be on site. Contact the National Support Center for support, if advised by the NSC or if NSC support is not available you may contact Central Data at: 1-800-482-0315 Training is included in the SUN class available through the NSC. The system continues to run. At this point the only thing that can be done is to shutdown the system. This can be done at the console using the normal system down command. Next power off the system, scsiTERM server and concentrators. Power up the scsiTERM server, concentrators and system. This should bring back the scsiTERM. Central Data has seen the problem and is presently working the issue. They hope to have a fix (new driver) shortly. A problem has been found using the sacadm and pmadm commands to handle the terminal port logins. The problem is some ports will hang after a log off. To correct the problem remove the ports from sacadm and pmadm and place the ttymon entries into the /etc/inittab file. It does not do any good to disable the ports with the pmadm command, they must be removed. The command used in the /etc/inittab file for each port is as follows: c500:234:respawn:/usr/lib/saf/ttymon -g -h -p "`uname -n` login: " -T 4314 -d /dev/sts/ttyc500 -l 9600 In the above the line will wrap, this is one line not two lines. In the above line c500 is a label, -T 4314 is the terminal type, -d is the device. ORIGINATOR: Wally Moore NETWORK DEVICES-CENTRAL DATA-SCSI-------------------FIB004 Pg001
