Depending upon the contract, hardware service is responsible for: Site Walk-through Hardware Setup Training Room Setup Hardware Relocation to final locations Cable Installation (if contracted through MAI) Cable Termination System Peripherals Connection Site Diagram Preparation Installation Report Sign-Off Installation Report Submission to Service Administration The following are overall guidelines as well as detailed checklists for the services we provide. CLS INSTALLATION SCHEDULE Because our customers operate in a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week environment, we are often required to perform our services during non-business hours. For example: Training is usually completed late on a Friday evening or over a weekend and equipment should be moved accordingly. Also, since auxiliary hotel departments such as Accounting or Sales generally do not work weekends, cable installation in these areas usually takes place during this time. These are just a few instances where it is critical that we are able to accommodate non-standard scheduling. DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES District Service Managers is responsible for coordinating hardware and cable installation activities associated with a CLS implementation project. Kathleen Driscoll, Educational Services Manager, has overall schedule coordination and customer management responsibility. Her direct line number is (714)470-8421. She is also available on pager through dispatch. District Service Managers will communicate and keep her informed of on-site hardware activities. CABLE QUOTES Cabling quotations are the responsibility of the CSE s and/or District Service Managers as is the billing of these services. The CLS Account Manager notify the District Service Manager of sales opportunities as soon as possible so they can start working with the customer. Cable materials are the responsibility of the CSE s or District Service Managers and should be obtained directly through MAI Production or any authorized third party. HARDWARE MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS Hardware Services contracts are produced by Contract Administration. GENERAL-CLS-SYSTEM----------------------------------FIB001 Pg001 The CLS Account Manager should request a hardware maintenance quotation be prepared with the contract. If MAI is providing the hardware maintenance contract for the property should be strongly encouraged to contract for 24 hour/7day support. HARDWARE/CABLING INSTALLATION CHECKLIST Obtain.a copy of contract from Educational Services Manager and discuss project requirements. Schedule a site walk-through to determine the following: scheduled delivery date of hardware to client site training room location and number of devices required location of dedicated phone line for modem in training room (or scheduled date for installation) total number of devices and permanent location of each device permanent location of modem phone line (or scheduled date for installation) Schedule installation of training room Schedule equipment move to permanent location Schedule termination of cable ends for permanent location of devices including interfaces Coordinate interface installations with property, foreign device vendor, CLS Interface Coordinator, and CLS Project Manager Once training has been completed: Move equipment from training room to permanent locations, unbox, place and connect any remaining equipment Place, connect and test modem in its permanent location Test all devices to confirm operation Label all cables at both device and CPU ends and provide port map to CLS support and property once all equipment in its permanent location Monitor interface installations and confirm successful communication between systems. Obtain sign-off of Installation Report and submit to Service Administration TRAINING ROOM INSTALLATION CLS on site training is conducted in a classroom environment with classes being held from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily. Classes are typically Monday through Friday, however, weekend classes are sometimes necessary due to property scheduling constraints. A temporary training room is required for these on site training classes. The training room must be set up to the specifications below and completed prior to the CLS Project Manager's arrival on property. Training can last from one to three weeks and at the completion of training the training room must be disassembled and the equipment moved to its permanent location. The host cable connects to a 25 pin connector of the cable, the other 25 pin connector to port A of the terminal, the 9 pin connector to the card swipe device.
